About the DRE Engine Diaper
- What does an engine diaper do?
-When installed properly, an engine diaper (or lower
engine containment device) will keep oil and debris from
getting onto the track.
- How hard is it to install?
-It's very easy to install! Because we incorporated
quick release buckles and 4 simple straps, they install simply and snugly
around your engine.
- Why do I need an engine diaper?
-First and foremost, safety. A DRE engine diaper
is much cheaper than replacing a car. Having a DRE
engine diaper also means less track downtime. And
there are IHRA and NHRA requirements.
- What diaper are Sportsman required to run?
-You are only required to run an NHRA accepted diaper,
as per chart on
NHRA Website.
- What is SFI 7.2?
-NHRA has changed the rules. You
do not need to run a SFI 7.2
diaper to any sportsman car.
- Why are DRE engine diapers better than
others?
-Ours are hand-crafted for YOUR engine. You gather
measurements and information about your engine and we
custom build your DRE Engine Diaper using only the
finest materials available, such as Kevlar®.
The fabric we use does not absorb oil, compared to
ballistic nylon which soaks up oil.
- Why Kevlar®?
-KevlarŪ is a high performance, light weight, thin, durable, flame resistant
material. If it's good enough for bullet-proof
vests, then it's good enough for your engine diaper!
- Is there a guarantee/warranty?
-Your
satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back.
- How long do they last?
-Our Sportsman and
Sportsman Kevlar diapers are made of very durable, water
proof material which is easy to clean and has removable
pads. They should last for years. No
recertification needed. The SFI 7.2 DRE Engine Diaper is certified for 5 years,
at which time it must be recertified by DRE under SFI
Specifications.
- Where are they made?
-DRE Engine Diapers are made in
Cerro Gordo, IL, USA.
